Why You Should Stick With Renting Scissor Lifts

Posted on: 21 September 2021

If you have and operate a company that uses scissor lift rentals once in a while, you are going to want to make sure that you are steering clear of the idea of outright purchasing one for your business. Too many people will make the mistake and assume that renting equipment as it is needed is much worse than actually purchasing it. Here are some of the reasons you should absolutely want to stick with the option of renting:

You Don't Have To Maintain And Repair It

As with any other type of equipment, it will eventually break in some way. It will also need regular inspections and maintenance to be performed on it. After all, you have to make sure that the hydraulics are working great and that there is nothing getting in the way of a smooth up and down movement. However, when you simply rent the machine instead of buying it, it will be the equipment rental company's owner's problem.

You Don't Have To Store It

You probably already have a lot of things that you need to store for your business. Adding one, two, or possibly more scissor lifts to your collection of equipment may mean that you will have to look for another storage space. That can cost a lot of money, and you will have to keep your scissor lift locked up in that storage space because you cannot run the risk of non-employees finding it and checking it out.

You Don't Have To Haul It Place To Place

Whether every job of yours requires the use of a scissor lift or only the occasional one does, the lift will need to be transported there and then back again once the job has been completed. This can mean that you have to add an extra vehicle to the company because now you have to haul all of the scissor lifts. The better option might still be to stick with rented options, as the rental company will deliver them and pick them up again once the job is over. If you have trouble with one during the middle of the job, they can send an employee out to swap it out for another lift. This way, you can keep working, and they can take your old rental back to the shop for repairs.

Call around and find a scissor lift rental company near you that offers the equipment you need.
